My name is Jonny Ratner and I am a senior at Algonquin, as well as one of the photo editors of the Harbinger.  I began taking photos for the Harbinger my junior year and eventually ended up as an editor.  I enjoy working for the Harbinger as well as capturing moments around the school and community through my photos.

After driving to the hoop, junior Patrick Freeman attempts to lift the ball around a Shrewsbury defender. Freeman finished with eight points as Algonquin won the game 51-49 on Feb. 7. "We exceeded expectations 100 percent and working hard in practice and buying into what coach says every day will help us to continue to play hard," Freeman said about the team's regular season.

Skating past Marlboro defenders, junior Jack Shemligian moves the puck towards the goal. Marlboro defeated Algonquin 4-1 on Jan. 25.

Performing a mat return, junior Jason Vanni lifts his opponent. Vanni added to the team's score to defeat Leominster 48-12.

Focused on the hoop, sophomore Danielle Adams lifts the ball over two Leominster defenders. Adams put up 24 points to help win the game, 55-50.

When the buzzer sounds at the end of the game, the team celebrates. Following this big victory, their record moves to 10-7 on the season.

Trying to get around his defender, sophomore Todd Brogna drives to the hoop. Brogna played a huge role in the victory as he contributed 18 points.

During a timeout, coach Brian Doherty discusses the game plan with the team. This victory came as Doherty's 100th career win as the team took down Shrewsbury 51-49.

As time closes down at the end of the second quarter, senior Jack Hanna closely defends a Shrewsbury player as the Algonquin bench looks on.

With his eyes focus on the ball, junior Jacob Carulli plays intense defense on a Shrewsbury player.

After being fouled, senior Brady Martin prepares to shoot a free throw. Martin finished the game with 14 points.

Focused on the basket, junior Ethan Cosgrove sets up and gets ready to shoot the ball. Kobe Bryant had a big impact on Cosgrove choosing the #24, and he also wore Kobe's signature shoes. "Kobe was one of my favorite players and I am just trying to show respect in the best ways I can," Cosgrove said. I feel like the "mamba mentality" he created is far greater than all of his basketball accomplishments. If you play sports or not, you should approach your goals with the right mindset."

In a meet against AMSA on Jan. 16, senior Sara Prendergast takes a breath in the 500 freestyle event. Algonquin took the victory.
