Upcoming Big Game: Shepherd Hill Invitational on Feb. 21

Q&A with senior captain Nicole Howard

What is your goal for the team this year?

“For us to really develop our skills and try to adapt to the new scoresheet. In the fall we struggled to adjust to that.”

As a team, what do you need to do in the pre-season (and throughout the season) to achieve this goal?

“[We want to] incorporate more conditioning to develop all of our skills. Since winter season is a little bit more laid back, I’m hoping that we will have more time to really work on developing fundamentals and developing our skills.”

Who are some of the strongest returning players and why?

“[Junior captain] Lucy McGlynn is our returning captain. [Senior] Meredith Lapidas has been competing every winter since she was a freshman.”

Who do you think will be your toughest competition this year and why?

“We’ve always looked to Shepherd Hill [as our biggest competition] because a lot of the time they have very similar skills to us but they perform very differently.”
