My family’s trip to Iceland was a little taste of freedom. Though we still stayed away from groups of people, we had vast landscapes and sheep for company.

During the summer, I baked a cake for a picnic I had with my friends. After spending so much time only seeing them online, moments like these are all the more precious.

My then 10-year-old sister poses for a photo when my family and I walked around Boston Common in the spring of 2021. It was crowded with many others milling around and enjoying the return of warm weather. We were all making the best of our time in the pandemic.
