Here are the top 5 articles from the Sports section during the 2020-2021 school year.

Sports presents top five pieces from past school year:

1. “Harby weighs in on epic Brady, Mahomes Super Bowl matchup”

Staff Writer Brady Quinlan discusses the Super Bowl between quarterbacks Tom Brady of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs. The graphic that accompanied this piece was very creative, and the “Our Editors’ Picks” section added more to the article. There was definitely a lot of knowledge and research that went into this article.

2. “Professional athletes use their power to influence fans political opinions”

Former Sports Editor Jenny Lambert discusses the influence of athletes on the 2020 presidential election. The use of social media post images enhanced this article greatly, and there were a lot of specific examples of advocates’ posts.

3. “Celtics face important decision in offseason”

Staff Writer Tucker Paquette gives a take on the past Celtics season and what needs to happen for the team to improve.  The opinion is an interesting take, and Paquette offers specific decisions he thinks would benefit the team, from trading players to shifting the coaching staff.

4. “Boys’ hockey makes memories on, off the ice throughout 2021 season

Former Sports Editor Jenny Lambert describes some of the highlights of the boys’ hockey season despite COVID challenges. The amount of quotes was awesome; the article consisted mostly of quotes from multiple players on the team as they talked about their favorite parts of the season.

5. “Sophomore becomes first girl to start on baseball team”

Assistant A&E Editor Katherine Wu’s piece is different from what we usually cover, which adds a lot to the sports section. We have had so many sports to cover this spring season, but it is great that we also covered achievements and momentous events within sports.
