REVIEW: Corner Grille offers quaint setting, incredible food

Caroline McAndrews, Staff Writer

Imagine a pizza topped with red sauce, pepperoni, sausage, hamburger, bacon, mushroom, onion, pepper, and cheese. At Corner Grille this delicious pizza is known as the Caveman and is just one of the many wonderful choices available.

Sitting on a small corner on Pleasant Street in Worcester with limited parking, Corner Grille may not look inviting from the street, however the interior has a cozy feel and is the perfect place for anyone to relax and eat.

Entering the small pizza place is mesmerizing. The smell of dough and toppings is instantly mouthwatering, which makes waiting for the food almost impossible.

Due to its small space, there is not a lot of seating, so if you are planning on going with a large group, make sure you get there early to claim available tables.

Luckily the friendly workers, holiday decorations, and soft music make the wait go by quickly, and before you know it, you are devouring the thinnest, most enjoyable pizza of your life.

Customers are the most important people when it comes to this small “bring your own booze” restaurant, and the employees do a great job of making sure everyone is having a pleasant time. Although you order at the counter and seat yourself, waiters serve you the food, and clean up after you as well.

Newspapers, along with crayons and paper tablecloths, are provided in order to ensure entertainment while dining. Also, there’s the option of  outdoor seating in the warmer months of the year.

Each bite of the thin crust pizza crunches just as much as the last, and fills your mouth with the warm taste of tomato sauce along with whichever juicy, unique toppings you decided to get such as caesar salad, celery, or even red curry sauce.

Although famous for its multitude of pizzas with an abundance of toppings, other foods such as salads, wraps, and homemade soups are offered along with fantastic desserts such as cookies and brownies. Large mason jars filled with different flavors of lemonade are used as “drinks for two,” and after slurping down your entire jar, it’s guaranteed you’ll be grabbing the fridge handle for more.

The food and drinks are well worth the higher prices. A large pizza costs $13.99, however you are left with nothing to complain about when paying for your meal because of its exquisite taste.

For anyone looking for an awesome experience along with a delicious meal, Corner Grille is the place to go, and on your drive there, don’t forget to imagine that Caveman pizza sitting in front of you, just waiting to be devoured.
