There is perhaps no person alive today who matches the cultural force that follows Taylor Swift. Her record-breaking “Eras Tour” was attended by over 10 million people, grossing two billion dollars in ticket sales alone, and countless Swifites are in mourning now that it’s all over. The tour consisted of music from each of Swift’s 11 eras which represent her different studio albums. This momentous show had plenty of special moments, but there are five moments that truly stood out and will live long in our memories.
#5: The “Don’t Blame Me” high note
Pretty much all of the “reputation” era on the “Era’s Tour” felt like a fever dream, and the coda of “Don’t Blame Me” was its raw, powerful culmination. With a unique laser and light display, the whole performance was undoubtedly a highlight of the show. But the best part was the high note, where Swift showcased her incredible range and belting finesse.

#4: The “tolerate it” performance
It is an absolute crime that the “tolerate it” performance was removed from the setlist during the European leg after a “Tortured Poets Department” set was added to the tour. The performance was Swift at her peak: a dramatic real-life enactment of one of her most gut-wrenching ballads. Beyond that, the unique set design used a variety of elements–a long dining table, wilted roses, ashen background trees–that worked in tandem to display a coldly depressing scene, astonishing in its quiet intimacy, making this performance a cut above the rest.
#3: The crowd traditions
Taylor Swift’s fans are a community of their own, and it would be impossible to talk about the best “Eras Tour” moments without mentioning the crowd traditions. From wearing and trading friendship bracelets to giving a standing ovation after the “champagne problems” performance to special chants during songs, the rituals were an experience of their own, adding joy and excitement to the concert experience. Hundreds of thousands of Swifties were also enchanted by apps like “Swift Alert,” which allowed fans to guess what outfits Swift would wear for each performance (all of the different eras on the tour featured several outfits).
#2: The opening
Before the first “Eras Tour” show, crowds were already primed for what they knew was going to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. However, the concert introduction was beyond anyone’s wildest dreams. The intro music itself was drenched in energy and anticipation, intermingling the lyric “It’s been a long time coming…” from her song “Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince” with all of her album names. Then there was the choreography; Swift’s background dancers emerged from the mouth of the stage, donning clamshell-like costumes, before they huddled all together, took a step back and out of nowhere Swift appeared rising from the stage.
#1: The surprise song set
There is one reason why Swifties all over the world opened Instagram, TikTok and Youtube at outrageous hours of the night to watch livestreams of the Eras Tour: the surprise song set. At every show, Swift played songs from her different albums acoustically on piano and guitar, sometimes mashing them up with other songs and making each concert a unique experience. Her acoustic performances highlighted her incredible voice, and she also used the time to give short speeches, bring on special guests, make announcements and premiere music videos, undoubtedly establishing them as the best moment of the entire “Eras Tour.”
