If you are looking for a family-friendly authentic Mexican cantina, Rancho Corona, located at 290 West Main Street in Northborough, will not disappoint. Their versatile menu and great service make this restaurant an enjoyable experience.

The overall design of the restaurant is extremely authentic, featuring a welcoming and cozy vibe with a genuine Mexican feel. Spanish music played in the background and the staff was extremely lively.  There were many table options including low tops, high tops, booths and seats at the bar.

We were seated right away in a comfortable, spacious booth and served complimentary tortilla chips and salsa as we were greeted by our waitress. Our waitress was extremely helpful as we made her aware that there was a gluten allergy in our party as well as someone looking for vegetarian options. We were pleased with the amount of gluten-free and vegetarian options available.

For a starter, I ordered the Taquitos Rancheros ($10.99), which were crispy flour tortillas filled with  chicken and cheese. They were served with a side of medium spicy salsa which I really enjoyed because it had a perfect spice balance.

For my main dish, I ordered the Three Grilled Chicken Tacos ($11.99), which I can’t say was my favorite. It came with a side of rice and beans. While the chicken was cooked perfectly, overall the tacos were quite dry. They were served with cilantro and onions inside the tacos along with a side of salsa, which I added to the taco, but it was spicier than I expected and not enjoyable.

Others at our table ordered the Gluten Free Chicken Fajitas ($19.99) and the Veggie Burrito ($12.99);  both were delicious and left the plates empty.

To wrap up the meal, I enjoyed some warm Churros that came with a side of chocolate and caramel sauce to dip them in. The texture and overall portion size were perfect and it was a great way to end my meal and time at Rancho Corona.

Although the tacos weren’t perfect, the majority of the food was great, and I would definitely recommend Rancho Corona to anyone looking for a fun, family-friendly restaurant that is quick, easy and very tasty!
