Top 5 picks #1

Adrian Mathew and Satoshi Conway

After a long morning of school, lunch is something all students look forward to, whether it be the conversations that take place or a break from the classroom. The meal itself, however, is the most important part. Here, we have ranked our top five school lunches.

#5: Buffalo Mac and cheese

This semi-spicy pasta dish is delicious, comes in a large portion and will leave you feeling full for the rest of school. Although you might be hesitant to order a spicy meal, the creaminess from the mac and cheese perfectly balances it out. This buffalo mac and cheese will be sure to add a kick to your day.

#4: Orange Chicken

This lunch is a fan-favorite that is the perfect blend between sweet and sour. After being served the same old classic American food, orange chicken is sure to throw in some variety. The taste is better than most other school lunches, but it can’t compete with real orange chicken.

#3: Grilled cheese and tomato soup

This buttery, cheesy and well sized meal might not be the healthiest option, but it sure hits the spot. The classic tomato soup that comes on the side serves as a dip that helps balance out the butteriness with the acidity. Additionally, the grilled cheese is always baked to perfection and has a crispy golden brown crust, with gooey cheese in the middle.

#2: Pasta w/ meat sauce

With pasta and meat sauce, it’s hard to go wrong. Every Wednesday, several students look forward to this meal as it includes a large portion, tastes good and comes with a side of garlic bread. Eating this with parmesan cheese tastes even better as it adds a unique flavor to the dish. Overall, this meal is a well-rounded classic.

#1: Spicy Chicken patty

The spicy chicken patty brings a new savory flavor to the school lunch while paying homage to the classic chicken patty that was popular in middle and elementary school. Like the buffalo mac and cheese, the spicy chicken patty will add a kick to your day. As chicken fast food chains are becoming popular, the chicken patty is very similar, and has the added bonus of coming with potato chips.
