“Holidays” or just “Christmas”?

Dear Editor,
In your December 2015 issue, there were two articles that were culturally closed off. These two articles were under the “Cozy up for the holidays” section. Both articles’ titles neglect to mention any specific holiday, yet 9/10 of the songs from “Top ten joyous songs to get your festive on” are Christmas songs, while all the movies from “Spice up your winter with five films” are Christmas movies. I understand that perhaps because you are a newspaper within a public school, you are not allowed to say “Top ten Christmas movies” or “Five great Christmas films.” However, if this is the case, you should culturally broaden the movies and songs you list to be inclusive of your wide audience. If this is not the case, then you should title your articles more accurately so that people do not have to play “Find the non-Christmas thing” while all the while they know that it is nowhere to be found.
Thanks,
