For ARHS staff and students, a delicious sweet or savory treat is always down the street, just half a mile away. Located at 318 Main Street in Northborough and open from 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on weekdays, Aero Coffee Roasters is a great stop before or after school. In addition to homemade drinks, the local coffee shop features a plethora of baked goods that are sure to make your day a bit better. These are our favorite treats that satisfy our taste buds on all levels.
#5: Chocolate Nutella Rugelach ($3.95)
This rich and buttery treat features a flaky dough jam-packed with layers of chocolate Nutella. Each bite is dense and chocolatey, making it more suitable for a midday snack rather than breakfast. A cold glass of milk or iced coffee would be ideal with this sugar-crystal-topped treat. We found this pastry delicious, but a little too sweet for its small size, landing it last in our rankings.
#4: Chocolate Banana Bread ($4.25)
Although chocolate is the prominent flavor, we could still taste delicious undertones of banana that make a slice of this bread a perfect baked good for any occasion. Its fluffy texture and scattered chocolate chips characterize this treat, setting it apart from all the rest. This house-baked good is also pre-wrapped, making it perfect for an on-the-go experience. This cake-like treat is a slice of heaven, but it was extremely rich for our taste, so it didn’t place any higher on our list.
#3: Cranberry Orange Scone ($4.35)
Out of the various scones Aero has to offer, the cranberry orange is our personal favorite. A refreshing but sweet orange glaze expertly complements the tart cranberries that this scone features. Freshly baked and fluffy, this scone is fitting for all seasons, providing a lighter alternative to some of the more dense and rich treats on the menu.
#2: Chocolate Croissant ($4.25)
You cannot go wrong with this classic French pastry: a flaky croissant filled with rich chocolate and a light dusting of powdered sugar on top. All the elements in this pastry work in harmony to create a satisfying treat, and in our opinion, one of the very best baked goods Aero has to offer. Pairing excellently with a cup of Aero’s home-brewed hot or iced coffee, this makes for an excellent treat after a long day of school.

If you can’t decide between a croissant and a bagel for breakfast, just choose the Aero-unique “Croissagel” so you don’t need to choose! Crunchy everything bagel seasoning tops a flaky and layered croissant that is filled with a savory cream cheese filling in this one-of-a-kind creation. This got the number one spot on our list due to its tastiness and innovation, combining two of the best breakfast items. A perfect way to start the day, this pastry is one that cannot be beat.
