The wrestling team ended their rebuilding season, which was riddled with injuries, with a 3-32 record, led by captain senior Paulo Knapp. Knapp reflected on the team’s growth and dynamics throughout the season.
How was the season overall?
“My season was going great, I think I was 15-2, but that was before I got a concussion. We didn’t win that many matches, but there was so much growth throughout the season.”
What was a highlight of the season?
“Seeing two sophomores, Harry Manning and Ephraim Dupont, seeing them win was really great to see.”
What is your team dynamic like?
“Definitely very goofy…for some reason a sport like wrestling really brings out the goofiness of some kids which is good. Some kids who aren’t friends with each other become friends with each other because of the wrestling season.”
What is coming up for the team next year?
“They can look forward to Ephraim and Harry getting a lot better and becoming leaders next year. All those freshman who joined the team, they’ll practice in the offseason and get a lot better. I think it’s a bright future.”
