Boys track is one of the few spring teams still competing at this time. On May 31, the team competed in the Central Western District competition, and many will compete again on May 7 and 8 in the state meet.
“ We came in eighth out of twenty six,” said junior Nick Defudis about his 4 by 100 relay which also included  junior Andrew Carlucci, senior Gabe Vasquez, and sophomore Nick Hong.
“ We were seated tenth so we weren’t expected to get a medal, but Gabe Vasquez really pulled through for us. He had been injured for a while but worked really hard to get back and we are thankful for it. He was really the deciding factor of the race, but it was still a team effort,” said Defudis.
At districts, sophomore Jake Gore also qualified in the 400 meter with a time of 50.54.
In the 4X8 relay, seniors Robert Kerstens and Sam Brazer as well as sophomores Max Michaud and Pat Sullivan ran a 8:16:54 and will compete at states as well.
