Fixed on The Fix

A juicy burger, salty fries, and thick milkshake create the perfect cheat meal combo. However, at The Fix Burger Bar located on Shrewsbury Street in Worcester, customers can indulge in a burger, fries, and milkshake without feeling guilty… and without hurting their wallet.
The Fix offers a “build your own burger” approach to customers. The basic burger costs approximately $10 (depending on the size) and comes with fries. There are lots of burger options for different types of eaters; gluten-free, veggie burgers, organic meat, and local, grass-fed meat. There is also a wide range of toppings, from your basics (ketchup, mustard, lettuce, pickles, tomato), to more unique flavors, such as a blackberry champagne BBQ, herb goat cheese, or cilantro mayo.
I ordered a local, grass-fed beef burger on a whole wheat bun with onion, pickles, lettuce and tomato. The food arrived quickly and the lettuce and tomato tasted exceptionally fresh. My sweet potato fries were lightly salted and absolutely delicious. My vegetarian friend was extremely pleased with the amount of options available to her. She ended up choosing a veggie burger with regular fries and a chocolate milkshake which she raved about. Another friend ordered a grilled chicken burger, and spoke highly of its light seasoning.
The restaurant is in a small building, so tables are pushed very close together, which made leaving the table a bit of a hassle. The dim lighting and blue hues radiating from the bar sign make for a relaxing, intimate setting; however, the lively 90’s music contradicted that feeling. The large bar seemed to seat most of the customers. The bar is certainly a big draw to customers; offering an extensive menu of alcoholic drinks, there are also soft drinks and milkshakes.
I give The Fix five out of five stars because the friendly staff, delicious food, and plethora of options for different diets made for a great experience. I was especially surprised by the cheap pricing for organic foods. Another organic burger place, BGood in Shrewsbury offers similar (but not as extensive) local fresh foods, but for nearly double the price. The Fix is certainly a hot spot so be sure to call or make reservations online before your visit.
