2014-15 Recap

3-2 regular season record and tied for second at leagues

Last year’s state qualifiers included Serena Hooker (300m), Kaitlyn Shreeve (300m), Anna Dlouha (55m hurdles), Christina Thebado (55m hurdles), Olivia Giles (55m), and the 4×200 team

“I think we had a lot of comradery last year. Our team was focused on itself last year which was great  because track is so individual. People were always cheering each other on,” senior Kaitlyn Shreeve said.

“I believe that we reached our potential last season. We won the meets we expected to win and competed well against every other team,” coach Ken Morin said. “Last year we were led by sprinters Serena Hooker, Kaitlyn Shreeve, and Olivia Giles. In the hurdles Christina Thebado, Anna D’louha, and Sammy Falkowski. Bridget Brady was our top distance runner.”

Key Athletes this season

“We will be relying on many of the same people as last year,” Morin said. “Junior Christina Thebado (hurdler), senior Kaitlyn Shreeve (long sprinter), senior Anna Dlouha (hurdler), and sophomore Bridget Brady (distance) return. We will be expecting performances from returning runners like Emily Hong, Caitlyn Ward, Caleigh Logan and Peri D’Amico. I’m also excited by new additions to the team. Kelly Morin and McKenzie Smith had an excellent first meet.”

“The hurdles are definitely our strong point; Anna and Christina make a really good team,” Shreeve said.

“[Our strongest event is] either the 55m dash or the high jump” junior Brooke Goguen said.

Outlook for 2015-16

1-0 record thus far with a win over Leominister

“We lost a few good seniors so we’re going to have to work a bit harder,” Shreeve said. “It’ll be tough to match our performance last year.”

“We need to find people for next year and we hope underclassmen step it up this season. Underclassmen are definitely a real focal point for us,” Shreeve said.
