Boys’ Hockey Preview: Confidence in every line

2014-15 Recap

Overall 12-4 record

Made it to D3 Central Mass Semifinals (where they lost to Shrewsbury 7-3)

“Last year, we were really learning what type of team we were and how we jelled; we ended up with one of the best records,” sophomore Tommy Ackil said.

Key Athletes

“This year we are looking to our senior captains as leaders on and off the ice,” head coach Andrew McGowan said.

The captains are seniors  #24  Joe Sullivan (center),  #15 Alex DiPadua (left wing), #1 Michael Tascione (goalie) and #22 Justin O’Connell (defense).

“[Junior center John] Paterson is supposed to be one of our strongest players this year and really good for us,” senior captain Alex DiPadua said.

“Sophomores like Dennis [Achkinazi], Tommy [Ackil] and Nathan [Anderson] have really stepped up this year; we have really talented defensive line,” senior captain Joe Sullivan said.

Outlook for 2015-16

“Our expectations for this season are that the team would continue to work hard day in and day out and come together,” McGowan said.

“We have the potential to be better than last year,” Sullivan said. “This year we are confident in every line that we put on the ice, as opposed to last year when only our first line only stood out.”

“I believe that this year we are going to do good,” DiPadua said. “We will make a deep run and potentially win the league.”
