Gather Provisions dishes fresh homemade meals with a side of a cozy atmosphere

A&E Editor Grace Huggins writes that regardless of high prices, Gather Provisions offers a wide variety of food items that leave tastebuds craving more.

Offering a wide variety of sandwiches, soups, sides and desserts that are made fresh daily, Gather Provisions, located on 290 W Main St in Northborough, is truly a special place.

There are so many options to choose from and with a special “sandwich of the day,” there is always something for everyone. Their signature sandwich of the day draws me in weekly to try everything, although I always end up going back to the caprese week after week.

The caprese with chicken is one of the best things my mouth has ever tasted. From the hard outside but soft inside, in addition to the rarely soggy bread and the delicious pesto mayo, my taste buds are always blessed. Making it even better is the perfect balance between always fresh cheese in between delicious slices of chicken.

With the summer months also comes lobster roll Friday. The juicy lobster is consistently fresh, and their fluffy, golden brown buns are always toasted before serving. While there is only an option for mayo, the light coating of mayo is not too overwhelming. With the cold lobster contrasting the toasted bread, I could easily eat this every day. Though I will say make sure to order ahead of time because they always sell out, given their high quality and demand.

Not only does Gather have amazing food, but the vibe in the building is always positive and very energetic. With cookies, wine and some frozen goods displayed, there is always something to keep your eyes satisfied while waiting for your food. The staff is so kind, greeting every customer with a beaming smile as they walk through the door. This immediately brings a warm welcome into the shop and makes visitors want to sit and stay to enjoy their meal.

There are several tables available to offer a dine-in experience, but you can also have your order to go and enjoy it in the comforts of your home, which I prefer.

The only negative to Gather is the higher prices with sandwiches coming in around $14, not including a drink or chips. So, if you are looking for a budget friendly place, this might not be the one for you. However, given the quality and freshness of their food, this small local business makes every penny worth it with just one bite.

Gather Provisions is the perfect spot to grab a meal that will leave your mouth satisfied in the days to come and your mood in the most delighted state.
