Retired Algonquin secretary Christine Lanotte smiles at the celebration of her retirement.

Since retiring in Dec. of 2023, secretary Christine Lanotte has enjoyed free time and missed the students and staff she interacted with at Algonquin.

Lanotte worked under six assistant principals over the years she spent at Algonquin. When reflecting on her time, the relationships she made with others stuck out the most.

“I miss all the kids, and I miss my coworkers, my friends that I’ve known for 8 years,” Lanotte said.

According to Lanotte, the best part of her days were her interactions with students.

“I enjoyed working with the kids and doing senior privileges because I got to really know the seniors seeing them twice a day,” Lanotte said. “I got to know them and their groups of friends. I loved the people.”

Secretary Diane Egizi also reminisced on her time working with Lanotte.

“Working with [Lanotte] is so much fun,” Egizi said. “She is a hard worker and she’s really organized, but she makes everything so much fun.”

Beyond her work ethic, Lanotte’s personality left an impression on Egizi.

“She has a heart of gold,” Egizi said. “She is the most generous, thoughtful kind person. She is a great friend.”

In her time off, Lanotte has enjoyed spending time with her parents and her three old pets and indulging in hobbies such as pickleball, golfing and biking. Lanotte also enjoys spending time with other retired friends.
