Students of all grade and skill levels who are involved in any and all music programs showed off their talent to friends and family at this year’s annual Holiday Concert on Thursday, December 18.
The theme of the concert this year was all holidays including Hanukkah, Christmas, and a splash of African folk music.
“After the fall concert, choirs have seven weeks to prepare and the orchestra has six weeks,” music department head Amy Collins said.
The groups that performed included Chamber Choir, Concert Choir, Mixed Choruses, Camerata Singers, Lady’s First Algonqapella, the Agents Men’s Acapella, String Orchestra and Tall Orchestra.
“I really enjoy this concert because alumni come home and rally around the holiday spirit and take part in the concert by getting involved in a song; it’s a tradition,” Collins said.
The annual event was a huge success with artwork from students in the main lobby, desserts sponsored by TRI-M [music honor society], and an overall joyous holiday evening.
