How do you feel about being committed?

“I’m so excited because there’s just so much I don’t have to stress about now with college. I’m so excited to continue my educational and academic journey at a place where I know I already have a team supporting me.”

What made you choose the school you’re committed to?

“I was looking at a few schools, and I did a clinic at Wheaton. I already knew they had all the academics I wanted, and it was the type of school that I wanted; when I got there I thought the school was literally perfect. I did more research and met with more people who went to the school, and everyone said it was like the best place on Earth. Everything about it was perfect and felt like home.”

What does it mean to you to play a sport in college?

“It shows that everyone playing truly loves the sport. Of course there’s going to be competition for playing time and everything, but I think it’s great to have so much support. College is so scary to go into but knowing you have a whole team of people that you have something in common with and always go to is really important.”

Christina DeFeudis – Bryant track and field

How do you feel about being committed?

“I’m really excited about it because I know no matter what happens with track this year, it’s not the end for me. I’m definitely excited to make new friends in the future and continue doing what I love.”

What made you choose the school you’re committed to?

“I thought it was a good fit for me academically. I also connected with the coach through Zoom and I thought I would have a really good positive relationship with him going forward.”

What does it mean to you to play a sport in college?

“Having a commitment and a schedule and forming new relationships on the team alongside other friendships I would make is what I’m most excited for. I think it’ll be great to already have common interests with people at my school. It’ll definitely set me in the right direction and keep me involved and having fun.”

Kaitlyn Desio – Wake Forest cross country and track and field

How do you feel about being committed?

“It feels amazing. I’m so excited and I worked really hard to get here. Wake Forest is an amazing school; I’m really glad I picked it. It just makes me so excited for next year and it gives me some motivation to get through this year.”

What made you choose the school you’re committed to?

“I chose Wake Forest because I instantly had a connection with the coach and I feel like I didn’t really have that at any other school. She just seemed so motivating and so excited to make a new team that I just had to choose the school. They also have amazing academics and amazing athletics. It was a perfect combination of everything I wanted.”

What does it mean to you to play a sport in college?

“I still can’t even believe that I’m a D1 athlete now. It feels like I worked so hard and now everything is finally paying off.”
