A&E Editor Macey Poitras-Cote, Assistant A&E Editor Jessie Lambert and A&E Editor Ava Aymie plan to explore the world of fashion in their new blog.

Hello everybody! Algonquin’s Closet is a blog dedicated to exploring the world of fashion. Our mission is to shed light on trends, showcase Algonquin fashion and give our own fashion advice.

Hi! My name is Ava and ever since I was a little girl I loved all things fashion. I went from playing dress-up to sewing my own clothing. I love being able to make clothes unique to only myself and being able to tailor them perfectly to what I like. Fashion has helped me gain confidence and stand out from the rest. If I could describe my style in one word it would be funky. I love bright and unique patterns that really make an outfit pop. If I could give everyone advice it would be, life’s short, make every outfit work.

Hey! I’m Macey! When I was younger I wasn’t all about fashion and style, but as I got to high school I fell in love with thrifting. The thrill of finding a unique, one-of-a-kind piece for a bargain got me hooked. I’m proud to say that most of the items I wear are thrifted. When things didn’t fit perfectly right, I taught myself how to sew them to fit. I also took on more ambitious projects. My favorite being an old dress that I turned into a skort and top set. Can’t wait to try out more trends!

Hello! I’m Jessie and I’m a junior. Starting freshman year, I got really into fashion. I used fashion as a way to express myself and set myself apart from others. My favorite thing about fashion is the unique types of shoes you can purchase. In my room, I have a shoe wall showcasing all the many different styles and colors of shoes I own. A big thing I think is important about fashion is matching. Of course, I don’t always match, but I think it can really pull an outfit together. I love talking and learning about fashion and am excited to see what this year brings!
