Quarantine Q&A: Junior Sravya Tanikella

Sharada Vishwanath, Online Editor

This interview was done remotely due to COVID-19 precautions.

What have you enjoyed most about COVID-19 precautions and social distancing?

“Something positive that’s come out of this situation is that I have more time for self-improvement and working on myself. My life isn’t going at 100 miles per hour anymore, I can slow down and work at my own pace.”

What is the worst part of COVID-19 precautions and social distancing?

“Social interaction is very important for humans and we thrive on it. I think especially for people who are extroverted, it’s hard to go so long without any social interactions.”

How have you been keeping yourself busy?

“As a Junior, I have a boatload of work, I started writing my college essay and have continued to study for the SAT. I’m balancing having fun with my family as well as working, which is my primary way of passing time.”

What predictions, hopes or fears do you have?

“I think that people need to stay inside, and people aren’t taking it seriously enough. States have begun to start loosening up which I don’t think is right. If people don’t do their job and stay inside, we are going to see the situation become worse, so that’s what scares me. I predict that we are going to have an influx of cases for states that are opening up. I also think that kids are going have a harder time adjusting.”

Where do you see yourself in 20 years?

“I see myself doing something I’m passionate about, and making a change in the world. I see myself being a more secure and confident person.”
