Why do you have your students write essays instead of take tests?

“Well, I think we kind of do both but essay writing kind of tells if students get the big idea of history and tests focus on the little pictures, name dates, etc.”

What are you looking forward to during this Thanksgiving? 

“Spending time with my family, my new baby especially.”

What is your favorite thing about teaching history?

“Getting to do something I love everyday.”

“Warm weather and family time.”
