BirchTree Bread Company provides fantasitic meals and a relaxed atmosphere.

The BirchTree Bread Company’s healthy menu and hipster vibes are attracting new customers from all over central Massachusetts. Right off of the infamous Kelly Square in Worcester, people are bearing the traffic to try their house-brewed coffee and fresh food.

Located on a tiny corner above a thrift shop, BirchTree has given itself a comfortable name and relaxed atmosphere. The building is old, with worn wooden floors and walls. The cafe has an open concept seating area, with huge windows allowing for a room filled with natural light. The different seating areas, including bar seats and wooden tables and chairs, adds to its charming and homey decor that creates a vintage vibe.

There is a setup in the middle of the cafe with a myriad of mason jars and water for customers to get a drink, and the silverware is also laid out in containers. Live music can often be heard from the corner of the cafe by the windows, as people chat and work on laptops. However, at peak hours, it seems it would be impossible to concentrate on work due to the busy and bustling atmosphere.

The staff was friendly and caring. After bringing out the order out to the table, they often stop by and ask if they can help with anything else. The workers seem to be genuinely interested in customer satisfaction.

BirchTree offers a variety of health-conscious foods that keep people coming back for more, such as the local organic greens salad or quiche. There are also sweeter options, which include foods like yogurt and granola.

The cashier greeted me with a smiling face.To start off my dining experience, I ordered the coriander raisin toast. Costing $4, the toast included homemade peanut butter served on homemade bread, topped with bananas. Although the homemade bread was very thick and hard to eat, the flavors were abundant. I also ordered a croissant for $3.50, and it was warm, buttery, and very flaky. Lastly, I ordered a medium iced latte for $4, and I was surprised to find a freshly brewed and perfectly sweetened coffee. Overall, the food was fantastic.

Having been to BirchTree numerous times, I have yet to be disappointed by its quick waiting time and delicious food. The freshness and quality of their meals truly reflect why customers can’t get enough. The accessible location and relaxed vibe combined with the quick, great food make for a truly bustling business.
