Needs ImprovMent entertains with original, humorous sketches
March 13, 2017
Needs ImprovMent, the student improv performing group, will perform “Homemade Theater”, which consists of original sketches, in the black box theater at 7:00 pm on March 16, 17, and 18.
Twenty-six students worked with drama teacher and director Maura Morrison to create sketches based on improvisational scene work.
“We had auditions in the fall and we made improv sketches after,” senior and cast member Julia Gittlen said. “From those we made skits for the show, and Mrs. Morrison does most of the writing and we [the students] help.”
Set artwork was crafted and designed by art students and art teacher George Hancin. Seniors Nitai Kortua and Nick Libby will manage the lights and produce live music for the nights’ entertainment.
“I’m really looking forward to putting our hard work out in front of an audience and showing people what we’ve been working on all year,” Gittlen said. “The group of people this year has been great. We’ve bonded a lot, and the seniors are really creative, everyone has their own little flair.”
Tickets are available at the door and will cost $5.00 for students and $10.00 for adults.
