Our Goal
A donation of $40 or more includes a subscription to the 2024-25 print issues of The Harbinger. We will mail a copy of our fall, winter, spring and graduation issues to the recipient of your choice. Your donation supports the student journalists of Algonquin Regional High School and allows our extracurricular publication to purchase equipment and cover our annual website hosting costs.

Katherine Wu, Editor in Chief
Katherine started writing for The Harbinger her freshman year when she took journalism. Through Zoom calls and masked interviews, she quickly fell in love with the storytelling aspect of journalism. Katherine joined The Harbinger Editorial Board as an Arts and Entertainment editor, became the Online Editor the following year and currently serves as an Editor in Chief. In her free time, Katherine loves playing volleyball, tutoring for the Algonquin Writing Center and listening to music (especially Taylor Swift).
Grace Bouzan, A&E Senior Staff Writer
Grace began writing for the Harbinger during her sophomore year after finishing journalism. While taking the class, she found a love and passion for sports reporting and writing. Grace is currently an assistant sports editor. She loves writing reviews and any content related to sports or players. Other than Harbinger, Grace loves to ski, hike and help out others in her community. She also has taken part in other clubs such as Best Buddies and DECA.
CJ Bourbeau, Senior Staff Photographer
After getting inspiration from video games, CJ has had a passion for photography ever since middle school. During his Sophomore year he took both Photojournalism and Photography at the same time to get the feel of what it’s like to truly be a photographer and to gain the skills he needs to work for the Harbinger. CJ loves to work for the Harbinger and is always up to the task to improve his art every step of the way and hopes to make it a full career in his future. In his pass time he likes to play video games, go in bikes rides, and watching movies.
Emily Harmon, Social Media Editor
Emily joined The Harbinger Editorial Board as the Assistant Online Editor after taking journalism her sophomore year. She’s always loved English, but only recently discovered her passion for journalism. In her free time, she does competitive dance and enjoys listening to music.
Madeline Peoples, Opinion Senior Staff Writer
Madeline joined the Harbinger as an Opinion Senior Staff Writer after taking journalism her freshman year. She developed an interest in journalism, and has always loved writing, so she wanted to further her contribution to the paper. Outside of Harbinger she does competitive dance and enjoys hanging out with friends and family.
Priya Maraliga, Photo Editor
Priya began taking photos for The Harbinger in her freshman year after taking Photojournalism. She quickly grew to love several types of photography and is constantly working to improve her skills. Priya is currently the Photo Editor alongside Katy O'Connell. She loves watching the photos taken by herself and other fellow photographers take their places in the paper. Outside Harbinger, Priya enjoys reading, listening to music, Formula 1 and participating in other clubs at Algonquin.
Altea Mehillaj, News Editor
Altea took journalism during her freshman year and is the News Editor. She started writing for her middle school newspaper and fell in love with writing articles, so when she went to high school she knew she had to join the Harbinger. Outside of school, Altea loves to read, play tennis and spend time with friends and family (especially her dog).
Arielle Chin, Opinion Editor
Arielle began writing for The Harbinger during her sophomore year Journalism class. She thoroughly enjoys the process of writing articles from brainstorming ideas, interviewing members of the Algonquin community, to editing and finalizing pieces for publication. Arielle is currently an Opinion editor, but also enjoys writing for other sections as well. In her role, she believes that shedding light on controversial and debatable topics can empower Algonquin students to share their opinions on a safe outlet. Outside of The Harbinger, Arielle enjoys playing the piano, watching crime shows, and traveling with her family.
Calla Torres, Online Editor
Calla decided to join the Harbinger after taking journalism during her sophomore year and has since become the Online Editor. She has always loved writing and discovered an early passion for journalism during a school project in the third grade. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with friends and listening to music.
Mia Nicosia, Assistant Opinion Editor and Politics Coordinator
Mia took journalism in her freshman year and has since become the Politics Coordinator and an Assistant Opinion Editor. One of Mia's favorite things about being on Harbinger is getting to voice opinions and share information about current events. In her free time, Mia enjoys reading, participating in steering, Project Enduring Freedom, Encompass Coalition, NEHS, CAP, competitive riflery and archery.

Ananya Pandit, A&E Editor
Ananya started writing for the Harbinger her sophomore year when she took journalism. She knew she wanted to write for the newspaper when she read her first Harbinger article freshman year. Ananya is currently an assistant editor for Arts and Entertainment. Outside of the Harbinger, she tutors at the Algonquin Writing Center, volunteers in the Community Action Program and goes thrift shopping at least once a week.
Amelia Sinclair, Business & Recruitment Manager
Amelia started as an assistant news editor during her freshman year. Beyond journalism she loves walking, swimming, traveling and cooking.
