Chris Adriaansen, lacrosse

Senior Chris Adriaansen has committed to Keene State College for Division III lacrosse and to pursue a major in early childhood education.

When did you first start playing lacrosse?

“I first started playing lacrosse during my sophomore year of high school. I wanted to start playing when I was in eighth grade, but COVID-19 canceled my freshman year season.”

What is your favorite thing about lacrosse?

“There is a lot of creativity in the game and I really like all of my teammates.”

What position do you play and what do you most enjoy about playing that position?

“I play midfield. I like playing midfielder because I can play defense and offense. I can basically do everything.”

Why did you want to play lacrosse at the collegiate level?

“I just enjoy being on the field the most and the brotherhood that comes with being on a team. I also like being outside in the spring.”

What about this college enticed you to play for them?

“[I considered] their winning tradition, the academics and everything else that goes into choosing a college. I felt it was the right fit for me.”

What are you most looking forward to in these next four years of your life?

“To win and have fun.”

Do you have hopes to play lacrosse beyond the collegiate level?

“I’m definitely not going professional, but I would like to join a men’s league when I’m older.”

Do you have any ideas of majors or other focusses you’d like to pursue at Keene State?

“Early Childhood Education.”

Do you have anything that you think is important to include about your relationship with lacrosse or your commitment?
