Elly Hansen, track and field

Senior Elly Hansen will be attending Endicott College in Beverly, MA after being recruited to the track and field program. Her main events are high jump and hurdles, and she will pursue a major in education.

When did you first start track and field?

“I started my freshman year.”

What’s your favorite thing about track and field?

“I think just the community, and being with all the people on the team.”

What position do you play, and what do you like about it?

“I do high jump and hurdles. I really like high jump because that’s where my friends [compete] too.”

Why did you want to play track and field at the collegiate level?

“I didn’t really want to at first, then I emailed back and forth with the coaches and I realized it was something I wanted to continue doing.”

What about this college enticed you to play for them?

“I really liked Endicott as a school and it had really good education and psychology programs, so I did that first, and then realized I wanted to do track.”

What are you most looking forward to in these next four years of your life?

“I think just making a lot of new friends and growing as a person.”

Do you have hopes to play track and field beyond the collegiate level?

“As of right now, no, but I’m not sure yet.”

Do you have any ideas of majors or other focuses you’d like to pursue at Endicott College?

“I really liked their education program, and that’s what I’m majoring in, and then I went to the campus and I loved it.”
