Ancient healers, modern medicine, and the power of connection
Ancient Healers, Modern Medicine, and the Power of Connection will be a half-year course offered to students at the Honors level in the 2022-2023 school year
This class is packed with information about various topics, and history teacher Katie Salt is excited to guide students through them.
Throughout the semester, students will explore various cultural traditions, beliefs, customs, medicines and healing methods ranging from the prehistoric age to the modern era, with a focus on the global impact of health and healing. In addition to that, studying human connection is a significant part of this class.
“The idea of the power of connection is that everyone has a story, and we really lost the art of connecting with people one-on-one,” Salt said. “Everyone wants to be seen, heard or listened to, and everyone wants to feel valued.”
All students are welcome and encouraged to try out this course.
“The basis of this course is to learn and apply some of these techniques to our own lives; therefore, all students can benefit,” Salt said.
