Lunch tray recycling program underway, volunteers encouraged

This week the Environmental Club’s lunch tray recycling program kicked into action. Students are volunteering to clean off trays that would originally be thrown away as waste, and are now shipping them to be recycled. The club has recieved positive reponse from the students and several volunteers from the Northborough Junior Womens Club. Currently, they are looking for more volunteers that are willing to help with this initiative or need community service hours. They find themselves short of help on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays.

“The student can volunteer as often or as little as they want and it really involves just the last 10-15 minutes of their lunch period,” Zbysia Giegucz said.
Students who are interested in volunteering can contact Famil & Consumer Science teacher Susan Halpin (room E107) or Zbysia Giegucz (room E106).
