Debby Saltzman, an English teacher at Algonquin, speaks about going through her recently deceased mother’s belongings. “Finally, my attitude started changing when we attacked the boxes on the floor in the closet," Saltzman said. "And so it was here that we found the letters that she saved… They were just so full of love and appreciation, gratitude, and it was kind of like I was getting to know my mother all over again, and seeing all the people whose lives she had affected made me feel so grateful that she left those letters for us to read."
