Varsity Cheer competes at States

After three long months of grueling practices and mile runs, the Cheerleading team made it to the 2013 State Championship at Wachusett High school on November 24, 2013.

Competing against 13 other teams from throughout the state, the girls prepared their best routine in order to impress the judges. This is the first time in eight years they have made it to the State Championships and Coach Bonnie Ford and assistant coach Kaleigh Durkin could not be more proud.

“I am incredibly proud of them and knew that they could do this. I was happy to see them put matters into their own hands and make this happen because they deserved to go,” Durkin said.

After competing at four Invitational competitions and Leagues  and placing seconds at Regionals, the girls were ready to give it their all at what they had long been waiting for.

Although the team didn’t make it to Nationals, senior captain Jennie Kush said, “Our goal was to make it to the State Championships so it didn’t matter what place we got, just as long as we gave it our all.  We feel very accomplished for all the hard work we’ve put in since June and I wouldn’t change a thing about the season.”
