Q&A with senior captains Elizabeth Shaw and Demetra Safiol

What is your goal for the team this year?

Elizabeth: “Our goal is to make it up to States, and as a team make everyone united.”

Demetra: “Everyone is together as a team.”

As a team, what do you need to do in the pre-season (and throughout the season) to achieve this goal?

Demetra: “Work hard at every practice and outside of the gym.”

Elizabeth: “Rest is important too, and utilize the time we have.”

Who are some of the strongest returning players and why?

Both: “[Sophomore] Lizzy Debroczy” 

Elizabeth: “She is always doing something, and always working.”

Demetra: “She does six things at once. [Sophomore] Mia Gorman too; she is consistent and dedicated.”

Who do you think will be your toughest competition this year and why?

Both: “MADS [Medfield, Ashland, Dover-Sherborn]” 

Elizabeth: “They were our toughest competition last year.”

Demetra: “They were the only team we lost to.”
