Most of us know Jennifer Lopez as a singer, dancer and actress. While she has accomplished a lot, this underrated movie rounds out my favorite J-Lo rom-com.

Set in San Francisco, Lopez plays Mary, a wedding planner unlucky in love who is looking for a promotion at her job due to a high-profile wedding she is planning. In classic rom-com fashion, the damsel is saved by a mystery man as she’s about to get hit by a car on a bustling San Francisco street. She comes face to face with Dr. Steve Edison (Matthew McConaughey) and sparks fly instantly. Little does she know that Steve is actually the groom in the wedding that will make or break her career.

Seeing Lopez in a different role then we are used to separates it from other films she’s been in and I mean, a little Matthew McConaughey can’t hurt either, am I right?

Dealing with over-the-top brides, her overbearing Dad and the wedding of the century, Mary tries to balance it all without trying to break the cardinal rule of wedding planning: never fall for the groom.
