CSI: Algonquin
Next year a new class will be added to the curriculum which could inspire students to fight crime by incorporating science.
Forensic Science is a semester course taught by science teacher Susan Vaughan. Vaughan loosely defined Forensic Science as “the study of the science of solving crimes.”
“It’s going to be awesome. You can apply what you’ve learned in biology, chemistry, physiology, and even physics,” Vaughn said.
The class will involve activities such as DNA fingerprinting, chromatography, fingerprinting, and hair forensics, things that are regularly seen on crime shows such as CSI.
“It doesn’t matter what level you are, you can get something out of it,” said Vaughn.
