Halloween costumes taken too far, offend others

Dear Editor,

Halloween is a popular holiday among many people. Kids, teenagers, and even parents get in the mood for this spooky holiday. When it comes to dressing up for halloween, no one goes easy on it. But the real question is, when do the costumes become too much? When do they go overboard? When do people dress in costumes for the wrong reason? People want costumes that make them stand out, but sometimes it becomes too much. People in 2016 are taking Halloween costumes too far, often offending many people. Halloween should not be an excuse to offend and hurt people’s feelings. Agreeing with the article, I think that Halloween costumes are often taken too far and often offend many people. It is Halloween. Wearing anything seems completely acceptable, but it is taken too far sometimes. People are wearing costumes that often offend many cultures and religions. So why do people do this? Is it for laughs, for giggles? Do they think they are being funny? Why dress in a costume that you know could offend somebody? Next time you dress up for Halloween, try dressing in a costume that you know is funny but also will not offend anyone or hurt anyone’s feelings.
